I am still reeling from the news of Michael Jacksons death. It is unreal to put Michael Jackson and death in the same sentence, as his music has had an unprecedented influence on my life. There is no other entertainer from any era that has had the impact he has, nor will there ever be another. I feel as if the entire creative innovation of the music industry was gone with his final breath, because Ive yet to meet a person who dislikes his music, or who cant renact the entire Bad or Thriller choreography with pride. Its even more passing strange that these tragedies seem to come in threes. Farrah Fawcett, the face of the original Charlie's Angels, also passed away on the same day, and it's a shame her loss is overshadowed by Michael's own death. It's so strange to me, and I feel as if there's a hole in the world, and it's acting like a reverse of Pandora's Box. Swallowing all the good of the world and leaving only malady in its wake.
But death, like any other primordial force of nature, has to be accepted, no matter how hard it is to swallow. MJ's music lives on in all of us who were unfaltering supporters of his career, irrespective of all the controversy in his life. I've been reviving all of the albums I've collected since I was old enough to collect (1990 and beyond), and reliving all my memories based on the songs by him that were playing at the time.
Remember the HIStory World Tour? Epic doesn't begin to describe that. So let's celebrate his life, even after his death.
